How Mesothelioma Starts?

The thin layer of tissues or cells that coats the inside of your chest, surrounding the lungs and the abdominal cavity as well as the outer parts of other internal organs. These cells form a lining known as mesothelium, which protect your body organs by developing a lubricating fluid that reduces friction.

The lining has specific names depending where it develops in the body. Like, when the cancer lines the lungs it is called pleura, when it lines the abdominal cavity it is called peritoneum and pericardium when it covers the heart and when it coats the testicles called tunica vaginalis.
If these cells grow in excess, they can make tumors. Tumor that starts in these linings is called Mesothelioma.
